The Greek Islands are unique and interesting, and normally are visited as part of a cruise. Each separate island, for example Santorini, has its own history and points of interest. Some cruises include a visit to Ephesis in southwestern Turkey as a port-of-call. This was the seat of eastern Roman Empire, and has many ancient buildings and artifacts to see. Those taking a trip to Greece should consider adding a short cruise to the Greek Islands for completeness.
