The Kruger Park in South Africa is one of the world’s finest wildlife parks, and should be on every world traveler’s list. To spend a few days or a week there is guaranteed to provide amazing and unforgettable personal encounters with all manner of African wildlife. In addition, everything is very reasonably priced, not like most of the private game parks in Africa. You can have a great vacation and unique wildlife interactions at a reasonable cost if you go to Kruger. A lion or an elephant will likely block your path … it is guaranteed to be one of your memorable experiences. You are allowed to drive your own vehicle, and to stay in any of twelve remote camps. The amazing part is that you are allowed to travel on your own in your own car on any of the hundreds of back, dirt roads in search of your own personal wildlife interactions. It will generally be just you and the wildlife … you’re on your own, so don’t step out of your car! Other cars are few and far between due to the enormous land area of the park. It is about an 11-hour drive from the southern to the northern boundary if you don’t stop.
